The conference Molds & Tools is held at the Ecole des Mines d'Albi every four years. It is organized by the School, the Clément Ader Institute, the French Association for Thermal Treatment and Surface Treatment (A3TS) and the Circle for the Study of Metals. In 2023 it will take place on Tuesday 9th and Friday 10th November and will present advances in several fields: digital simulation, conception and new processes applied to tools, evolution of the materials for tools and surface treatments. On Thursday 19th October 2023, the Circle for the Study of Metals and the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne (Materials Science and Structures Department) will conduct a one day session of professional training on the welding of steels. 4th JIMID Conference on the Metallurgical Innovations for the Defence Industry 21rst March, 2023 Ecole Militaire 5 place Joffre 75007 Paris IHEDN (French Military Academy), CEM (Circle for the Studies of Metals) and the metallurgical company Aubert & Duval have organised one-day seminars about materials for some years. The fourth edition will be held in Paris on Tuesday, 21rst March, 2023. It will deal with ?Materials for the defence industry from 2040 onwards'. The language of the conference will be French. It will examine their consequences on some properties of steels which are vital in terms of forming and serving performances. The Circle for Metals Studies is active in the ?Nuclear' theme of colloquium n°3 ?Materials and Energy' which deals with nuclear fuels and nuclear materials for present and future reactors (fusion and fission)
