The standard deviation of a uniform distribution is equal to the width of the distribution divided by about 3.
Only one value to be retained: approximately 95% of measurements are included in the interval wich is about 2 times the standard deviation around the average

Very interesting consequenceof the laws of propagation of the error (which will be seen further) because it allows in many cases to improve measurement.
Attention, the errors must be independent! It will not be the case for example if the error varies slowly.
